I already have 3 allergy free cookbooks. Plus, I like a few photos if possible, which there is none. If this is your first cookbook, you will probably be fine. And I may try to do my own substitutions if there is a recipe that I haven't seen before. I just feel that there are a few better kid friendly allergy cookbooks out there. I checked this book out from the library and I loved it so much that I went ahead and ordered it from Amazon. These are great recipes! They are easy and everyone in my family loves them.

When it says "allergy-free" it doesn't include soy-free. I'm allergic to nearly everything and nothing is more of a problem than soy. So when I actually buy a recipe book instead of just Googling, I actually want easy completely allergy free recipes. True she does suggest substitutes for most of her soy based ingredients, but for example the cream cheese frosting uses "dairy-free cream cheese" with no substitute suggestions.

Now I don't know if you've ever looked at the ingredients on any dairy-free cheese product but it ALL includes soy. If I already found a dairy-free, soy-free cream cheese, I wouldn't need this recipe book on how to make the frosting.

I bought this for a friend that can't have wheat, eggs or dairy. I really liked how the book is laid out. One person found this helpful. The best for my eight year old he loves these recipes because he is allergic to so many things! Our favorite is the cake and the ice cream! I love this book you can't go wrong! A good starter book, although very simple in its approach. Those in my family with major food allergies can always add spices and herbs to her basic recipes, such as cumin, curry, thyme, basil etc.
I understand the child diet may wish to be more bland. The reason I like this cookbook is because it uses basic ingredients that are easily obtained in the health food department of my local grocery store. The recipes are simple and quick.

With just a brief interlude, a house in Craven Street was to be his home until From there he mixed with both the brilliant and the powerful, whether in London coffee house clubs, at the Royal Society, or on his summer travels around the British Isles and continental Europe. The early s saw Britain's elevation to global superpower status with victory in the Seven Years War and the succession of the young, active George III.
These two events brought a sharp new edge to political competition in London and redefined the relationship between Britain and its colonies. They would profoundly affect Franklin himself, eventually placing him in opposition with his ambitious son William. Though Franklin long sought to prevent the break with Great Britain, his own actions would finally help cause that very event.
On the eve of the American War of Independence, Franklin fled arrest and escaped by sea.

The perfect Christmas read! At the tender age of 11, Maggie Clarke finds herself the matriarch of the family when her Irish mother runs off with another man. Leaving school at 14 to work at a local factory putting sticks into lollies, she is determined to make a better life for herself and her family - before starting her own family with her childhood sweetheart, who she marries at 19 after 'falling in the family way'.
She has one night of married life with her husband before he is sent to India with the Navy and is devastated when she never hears from him again, presuming him a casualty of the war that is raging at home and abroad. Another tragedy strikes when Maggie's brother Tommy is also claimed by the war, leaving her father inconsolable, but Maggie knows life has to go on and falls in love with Joseph, an Irish settler who she has 8 children with. But her happiness is short-lived as her first husband suddenly appears out of the blue demanding a divorce, and her new husband drinks away what little money they have, returning in fits of rage that leave Maggie and her children hungry and afraid.
Many times she is only able to feed her brood by the kindness of neighbours putting a 'pan of scouse' on the range for her, or feeding her kids jam butties to help out. Maggie's story sweeps across the changing face of Liverpool, from its squalid dock streets, the tenement blocks and cobbled roads to the decline of the docklands, new council housing, the rise of the Mersey beat, the Beatles and the energy and passion of a city that is home to a cast of colourful characters with the resilience to withstand the heartbreak and hardships that only the poorest can know.
A story of romance, love, family, friendship and laughter - the perfect read this Christmas! Our Books See all Books.
