High-Resolution NMR Techniques in Organic Chemistry describes the most important high-resolution NMR techniques that find use in the structure elucidation of organic molecules and the investigation of their behavior in solution.
High-Resolution NMR Techniques in Organic Chemistry
The techniques are presented and explained using pictorial formats wherever possible, limiting the number of mathematical descriptions. The emphasis is on the more recently developed methods of solution-state NMR spectroscopy with a considerable amount of information on implementation and on the setting of critical parameters for anyone wishing to exploit these methods. His interest in NMR was ignited as an undergraduate student of Chemistry and Analytical Science whilst undertaking a year-long industrial placement in the spectroscopy laboratory of a leading pharmaceutical company.
He has co-authored over research papers and his research interests focus broadly on the application of solution-state NMR methods for characterizing small molecules, and for studying their behavior and their interactions, especially as ligands for biological macromolecules. I would give it 5 stars, but it is lacking in the mathematical explanations of essentially all the techniques and theories involved in NMR. That being said it is great for undergrads and those wanting to learn the basic tenants of NMR in order to run small molecule based experiments.
High-Resolution NMR Techniques in Organic Chemistry by Timothy D.W. Claridge
It does a good job at explaining NMR from a very fundamental prospective. For those wanting to dive deeper into NMR I would suggest this as starter text and then move on to a more rigorous text.
I would also highly recommend it to new grad students who do not have much background in NMR. One person found this helpful. Awesome and practical book on NMR techniques! My only issue is is the physical construction of the book.
